Gingerbread Village at Seattle’s Sheraton Hotel

Every year, Seattle’s Sheraton Hotel commissions local architectural firms to create innovative and dazzling gingerbread houses for their Gingerbread Village.  These houses are then displayed in the hotel lobby in support of a local charity.  One of my favorite holiday traditions is to bring my kids down to the Sheraton to check out the immense and impressive architectural wonders on display.  This way we don’t get stuck with a stale, homemade gingerbread house that’s not up to code!

This year, the gingerbread houses will be built around the theme of Holiday Movies, like A Charlie Brown Christmas, or Polar Express.  Donations to support The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation can be made online or in person at the Sheraton.

Also this year, you can view the houses and vote on your favorite online.  So if all that holiday food has you trapped in the easy chair, you can visit each gingerbread house without leaving home!
